October 2, 2020 One of the founding principles of The Verve Partnership is “Giving Back”. One of the founding principles of The Verve Partnership is “Giving Back”. Our first project was centered around just that in working with Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC) on an office renovation that needed some love. In line with a non-profit organization called The One Percent, we committed to donating 10% of our annual hours to assist non-profits in need – strengthening them through the design of the built environment. We still do this today. Relevant. In line with our mission. A nice way to start a company. Eleven years later, I am now on the VOACC Board, more than happy to lend “some” inspiration, hope, creativity, whatever I can to help this organization help those that they help. If you do not know, VOACC, founded in Baltimore, is a faith-based non-profit that provides health and human services in Maryland, DC, Virginia, North and South Carolina. See more here. The COVID-19 Pandemic has wreaked havoc on all of us; especially those most vulnerable. It has also had a big impact on the ability for our organization to fundraise via events, which clearly are not occurring to support this and other non-profit organizations. Therefore, the annual Harvest for Hope Fundraiser – typically a +200 person event – is going virtual and our development team is killing it. We are offering fantastic activities and incentive packages sure to engage, entertain and gather in support of Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas. This year’s Harvest for Hope is now a month-long campaign from 10.20 to 11.22 Throughout that month, we will be hosting virtual events: Wine Tastings (My Favorite) with tasting kits delivered right to your door to participate. Mixology Nights with mixology kits delivered right to your door to participate. Trivia Night (mobile- and family-friendly) which is a 4-night series of application-based trivia. Silent Auction, which you can register for now and will open on November 5th; and a Livestream Event, which is the grand finale for the campaign where you learn more about VOACC.
